| WittyLibrarian's infamous career as a Blaster working in Talos
Island (working his Levels from 20 to 30) contained an unusual week of activity
that remained secret until now. During that week, Witty had gone missing,
leading his colleagues to search for his whereabouts. Following a series
of clues that led them to Crey's Folly, they discovered that Witty had been
kidnapped by Crey agents. Followed by a mysterious Paragon Protector, the
heroes turned the tables on Crey and captured the masked Protector. Unmasking
the Protector, however, proved shocking as it revealed... Witty! Chasing after this evil-seeming Witty, the rescue team (ReDorthy, Dinah Might, Bert the Viking, Police Drone S9, KnickKnack, Mookie, and El Fuego Fuerte) uncovered more shocking news: Crey Corporation had perfected cloning technology! Crey had obtained the original Witty's blood sample, using it via Project: Cluster to grow a veritable army of Wittys and each altered via magic (provided by an evil CoT Mage) to different types of powers. The Witty they now chased, an Illusion Controller, was the most successful of the clones: He took on the assignment of capturing the true Witty, in the hopes he would claim his persona as his own and infiltrate the ranks of CoH heroes as a spy and 'gatherer' for Countess Crey. After watching the heroes free Witty Blaster from his prison, Witty Controller confronted his progenitor as a gleeful Countess egged him on. The original Witty, however, deflected the controller's attempts at conflict and engaged his clone in a battle of wits and wisdom, in the process convincing Witty Controller that the Countess was evil. Abandoned and betrayed by Countess Crey, Witty Controller turned sides, attacking Crey's forces and aiding in the dismantling of Project: Cluster, ending the threat of Crey's cloning of superheroes for their evil purposes. Still pursued by an enraged Countess Crey and her legions, the heroes escorted Witty Controller to Atlas Park and to the hero trainer Ms. Liberty. Promising to her of his desire to be a hero, Witty Controller won his life away from Crey's control. Witty 'Troller tried to learn the ropes of being a hero: however, driven envious by Witty's greater success, overshadowed by others, Witty turned Dark. And when the Rogue Isles opened for business under the devious webs of Lord Recluse, Dark Witty fled to forge his own evil destiny... |
